Matthew Sumera

My work is based in the extremes of the world, reflecting how I tend to live my life. I have always been attracted to the polarities and intense emotions that are forced upon us in the human experience. That being said, most of my inspiration is found inwardly, drawn from what I am experiencing in the moment or what plagues me from my past. This leads my art to be extremely personal, ranging from my own apathy in the face of death to mistakes in love to drug use to being lost in the world.
